a real estate agent to be your “buyer’s agent”. Then go get “pre-qualified” or even “pre-approved” for a mortgage. (most agents now will require a “pre-qualify” before even

later discover, you really did not need the real estate agent’s help. Having a formal
agreement (on paper) with an agent could end up costing you an extra 2% to 4% on the
price of the house!

To put that in dollars, on an average house purchase price of $150,000 that is $3,000 to $6000! So you can see where that might make the difference in whether or not you can
even buy a house in the first place! (Now how “free” does that information look?)

The second way the Easy Homebuyer’s Toolkit will save you time, money and grief is
with the mortgage company. Suppose you did pick a mortgage company and go
through their “pre-qualification” or “pre-approval” process. Almost all of them will charge
